In our blog post on Toyplosion 2023, we already promised it - we'll see you again in Castrop-Rauxel in 2024. Around a year later, the time had come and the second edition of Toyplosion took place.
Extended to two event days and with a bigger programme, the team behind the event could rightly claim the title of ‘most powerful retro toyshow’ (at least in Germany).
For those readers who are not yet familiar with Toyplosion, it is a toy fair with a focus on vintage and retro toys. Adult children from the 80s and 90s in particular get their money's worth here and you can feel the joyful excitement when someone rediscovers a coveted toy from their childhood.
Between all the nostalgic memorabilia and collectibles, there were of course also new items and other merchandise for many different licences - Star Wars cardboard stands, He-Man cushions, advertising lights and so on. There was something for everyone with even the slightest retro flavour.
heo Media on tour
But not only was the second edition of Toyplosion bigger and more extensive, our team from heo Media also made its way to Castrop-Rauxel with active support to top the participation from 2023.
While one part of the team made the stand for Mattel bigger and more epic, the other team took care of setting up a small living room studio.
Here, they streamed diligently for two days and anyone who missed the live session can enjoy selected segments again in the coming weeks.

Choking Hazard
Our in-house media format ‘Choking Hazard’ provided the supporting programme for two days of live entertainment with many different guests from the collector scene, such as Marc and Janis from the Figurbetont podcast, as well as unboxings and product presentations.
The audience was guided through the programme by the team of presenters Bernie, Kes and Bianca - geek culture in its purest form.
And what would a show be without music? Right, not a real show and that's why we brought Choking Hazard music genius ‘Ö’ on board.
The good cause!
It's certainly no big secret that the organisers have a big heart for collecting. But the fact that this heart is also in the right place is shown by the great commitment of the boys to supporting the ‘Runden Tisch Marxlohs e.V.’.
The association's charitable work has already been supported in the past with donations of money and goods, and the 2024 Toyplosion was no exception.
Dealers and private individuals offered lots of vintage toys for auction, with a portion of the proceeds being donated again - the highlight was undoubtedly the original He-Man, which changed hands for around €17,000. Congratulations!
With the help of manufacturers such as Beast Kingdom; Jada; Ravensburger; Panini etc., we also brought along a huge load of raffle prizes, which you could win with a bit of luck and the right ticket number. Here, too, the proceeds went in favour of the association's work.

Mattel Fan Activation
And while the majority of the Palatinate delegation was busy in the studio producing content, part of the team took care of setting up and looking after Mattel's presentation area.
The power of Grayskull was gracious to us and transformed the stand into a much larger and more epic upgrade compared to 2023.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mattel once again and especially the many fans with whom we were able to have numerous conversations about Masters, Jurassic World and more.
Toyplosion 3
fter two successful events, it has already been decided that Toyplosion 2025 will go into its third round. Knowing the team, the first ideas will certainly be presented soon and advance ticket sales will not be long in coming.
We're really looking forward to it and can hardly wait to welcome you all back in 2025!
